Daily Typing Challenge — Same Text, Fair Compare
Most typing tests hand you a random word list, so your 72 WPM and a friend’s 68 are not the same exam. Type Fast’s daily challenge is seeded from the UTC date: everyone using the same language gets the same ~40 words until midnight UTC. Type it, keep a streak, share the score. No signup.
[ START TODAY'S CHALLENGE → ]How the daily text is chosen
There is no server picking a passage. The site hashes today’s UTC date and shuffles the word list with a deterministic generator, so two browsers on the same day and language produce the same string. English, Spanish, French, German, and Portuguese each have their own pool — after you set Language in Settings, the daily text follows it.
That is also why a hash URL (/#daily) can still be a shared ritual: the landing page you are on is what search engines can rank; the challenge itself runs in the app.
What you get
A fair number
Same words, same day. Comparing WPM with someone else actually means something.
A streak that is yours
History stays in the browser. Miss a UTC day and the challenge streak breaks; the rest of your lessons do not.
Share without an account
Finish and you can send a result link. They do not need to log in to understand the score.
Then real practice
The challenge is one passage. Adaptive lessons and eight games are still there when you want the keys underneath the number.

Daily typing challenge FAQ
What is the Type Fast daily typing challenge?
A short passage generated from the UTC date, so everyone using the same language gets the same words that day. You type it once, get WPM and accuracy, and can share a result. A new passage starts at midnight UTC.
Is the daily challenge the same for everyone?
Same UTC day and same language, same text. English users share one passage; Spanish users share another. There is no server — the text is seeded from the date in your browser.
Do I need an account?
No. History and streaks are stored in your browser. If you clear site data, the streak is gone — export a backup from Settings if you care about it.
Is the daily typing challenge free?
Yes. No ads, no premium days. Adaptive lessons and eight games stay available the rest of the day.
